Boys’ basketball: Sherman Oaks Notre Dame gets 75-70 win over Harvard-Westlake

There’s never an easy game in the Mission League. Just two days after stunning first-place Crespi, Harvard-Westlake suffered a 75-70 defeat to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame on Friday night.

Jon Stretesky made six three-pointers and finished with 26 points for the Knights. Chibueze Jacobs added 20 points. Notre Dame made 20 of 23 free throws and swept the Wolverines in league play for the first time since 1993. Cassius Stanley had 21 points for Harvard-Westlake.

Loyola pulled out a 54-53 overtime win over St. Francis. Malachi Jensen had 19 points for St. Francis. Alemany defeated Chaminade, 42-36. Brandon Davis had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

In the Trinity League, Orange Lutheran defeated Servite, 41-32. Chris Williams scored 18 points. Harrison Butler had 19 points in Mater Dei’s 78-60 win over JSerra. Santa Margarita defeated St. John Bosco, 64-46.

In the Foothill League, first-place Hart defeated Saugus, 65-30. Cameron Fuller scored 14 points. Valencia defeated West Ranch, 64-58.

In the Moore League, Compton defeated Long Beach Jordan, 72-69. Raysean Scott had 30 points. Long Beach Poly defeated Long Beach Wilson, 75-51.

Max Heidegger scored 32 points in Oaks Christian’s 62-60 win over Newbury Park. Calabasas defeated Thousand Oaks, 54-50. Ryan Murphy scored 21 points. Agoura defeated Westlake, 44-39.

Oak Park defeated Camarillo, 62-49. Riley Battin scored 27 points. Santa Monica defeated Hawthorne, 77-32. Jonah Mathews had 19 points.

In the Baseline League, Chino Hills improved to 21-0 with a 116-60 win over Los Osos. The Huskies will face Bishop Montgomery on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Cerritos College in a battle of unbeaten teams. Damien defeated Rancho Cucamonga, 90-66. Bryce Peters scored 31 points and Isaiah White had 21.

Bishop Montgomery is 21-0 after a 70-45 win over Gardena Serra. Ethan Thompson had 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Corona Centennial defeated King, 70-44. Jordan Griffin scored 20 points. Sierra Canyon defeated McAuliffe, 82-38. Deveral Ramsey had 27 points.

Walnut defeated Los Altos, 75-71, in overtime. Freshman Jarod Lucas had 32 points for Los Altos. Dwight Ramos scored 35 points for Walnut.

Santa Maria St. Joseph (20-2) won its 18th consecutive game with a 71-32 win over Paso Robles.

Highland defeated Palmdale, 68-29. Justen Miller scored 19 points.

Inglewood handed Redondo its first loss in the Bay League, 59-55. Elijah Nesbit had 14 points for Redondo.

Thomas Frank scored 23 points in St. Bonaventure’s 59-49 win over Carpinteria.

In the City Section, Fairfax defeated Hamilton, 76-24. Isaiah Bowers led the Lions with 18 points.

In the Coliseum League, Fremont defeated View Park, 70-67. Dayshone Henry had 15 points and eight rebounds. Crenshaw defeated Hawkins, 73-46.

In a battle for first place in the Eastern League, South Gate defeated Bell, 26-25. David Mixon scored 13 points.

In the West Valley League, Brandon Thomas scored 21 points in Taft’s 59-38 win over Chatsworth. Birmingham defeated Cleveland, 81-64. Josh Abrams, Deschon Winson and Devante Doutrive each had 14 points. El Camino Real defeated Granada Hills, 49-37. Brandon Russell scored 25 points.

Narbonne stayed unbeaten in the Marine League with a 74-48 win over Carson. Jamal Hicks had 19 points. Washington defeated Gardena, 57-50. Jared Chatham and Matthew Mondesir each had 15 points.

Poly defeated Chavez, 57-51. Mika Holgado had 17 points. Grant defeated Arleta, 81-51. Chad Holloway finished with 32 points. Grant faces North Hollywood for first place on Wednesday.

Van Nuys defeated San Fernando, 69-58. Kevin Hurlic scored 21 points.
