It's a game players, coaches and fans have been waiting for all season: San Fernando at Sylmar on Friday night.
It's an exciting matchup of quarterbacks: Cristian Solano of San Fernando, a senior, against sophomore Clarence Williams of Sylmar.
Back in his days as a standout running back at San Fernando, Sylmar Coach Chris Richards remembers looking forward to rivalry games.
So he understands the anticipation around campus.
“I’m trying to stay cool, calm and collected,” Richards said. “It’s a long five days. There are certain games on the calendar you’ve been waiting for. It’s very exciting.”
It might not be the only meeting between San Fernando and Sylmar. Both schools are in City Section Division II this season, so a rematch could come in the playoffs.
The game will be televised by Time Warner Cable thanks to fans voting enough times to have the game televised in a competition.
Now, if only the players can be patient enough until kickoff on Friday night at 7 o'clock.
