Football: Down, 23-0, Palisades rallies for 30-23 victory over Hamilton
Palisades Coach Tim Hyde must have given quite a halftime talk on Friday afternoon.
Trailing, 23-0, at halftime, and trailing, 23-7, after three quarters, Palisades rallied for a 30-23 victory over Hamilton in a Western League road game.
Leading the charge was Innocent Okoh, who scored the winning touchdown on a four-yard touchdown run with 59 seconds left. He earlier tied the game with a 22-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion.
Palisades improved to 6-1 and 2-0 in league.
“It was a great comeback,” Hyde said.
Palisades gave up two interceptions returned for touchdown and another interception resulting in a field goal.
“It was an atrocious first half,” Hyde said. “My speech was calm. I’m a former Marine and brought out my old infantry talk, ‘You’re never out of the fight.’ We played our tails off.”
