No. 25 Baylor outlasts No. 13 Iowa State in overtime, 100-91

Johnathan Motley scored seven of his 27 points in overtime Tuesday night, and No. 25 Baylor defeated No. 13 Iowa State, 100-91, ending a three-game home losing streak for the Bears.

There were 14 ties and 14 lead changes in the game, the final lead change coming with 3:19 left in overtime when Lester Medford hit a three-pointer from the left wing to put Baylor (19-7, 8-5 Big 12) ahead, 87-84. After Iowa State’s Deonte Burton missed a three-point try, Taurean Prince fed a bounce pass to Motley for an emphatic dunk.

Motley, who also scored 27 points in the teams’ first meeting, finished with 10 rebounds. Five other Baylor players scored in double figures, topped by Terry Maston’s 15 points.

The Cyclones (18-8, 7-6) had three 20-point scorers: Abdel Nader with 26, Georges Niang with 24 and Monte Morris with 20.

at No. 24 Texas 85, No. 10 West Virginia 78: Eric Davis Jr. scored 15 points and sparked a flurry of first-half three-pointers, and the Longhorns (17-9, 8-5 Big 12) held off a late rally by the Mountaineers (20-6, 9-4) to snap a two-game losing streak.

Davis made four three-pointers in the first half and Texas (17-9, 8-5 Big 12) had 10 for the game in capping a regular-season sweep of West Virginia. Isaiah Taylor had a game-high 23 points and seven assists for Texas.

Tarik Phillip scored 19 points for West Virginia (20-6, 9-4), whose leading scorer, Jaysean Paige, injured an ankle in the first half and never returned.

at No. 17 Purdue 71, Northwestern 61: A.J. Hammons had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Johnny Hill scored a season-high 15 points for the Boilermakers (21-6, 9-5 Big Ten), who have not lost consecutive games this season. Tre Demps scored 16 points for the Wildcats (17-10, 5-9), who have lost seven of nine overall and five straight on the road.
