Charlie Weis said he doesn’t think a decision about his future as Notre Dame coach has been made.

“Oh no, I don’t think that any decision’s been made because I probably would know, and I don’t know,” Weis said Tuesday. “With that being said, it’s full speed ahead . . . that’s exactly the way we’re approaching it.”

Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick has said he will evaluate the program after the season.

Last season Swarbrick met with Weis three days after the season ended, during a recruiting trip in San Jose. Swarbrick agreed to bring Weis back for a fifth season because they agreed on what steps needed to be taken to restore the program to prominence.

But after a promising start, the Irish have lost two straight and three of five to fall to 6-4, and to 35-25 under Weis.

Mangino is under review at Kansas

The University of Kansas said it is investigating what it calls a personnel matter concerning Coach Mark Mangino, whose team is mired in a five-game losing streak that threatens to ruin the season.

Athletic Director Lew Perkins met with the team Monday night and Mangino, the national coach of the year in 2007, was not present. Mangino said he met briefly with Perkins on Tuesday after Perkins issued a statement confirming the internal review was under way.

Mangino insisted he has not lost the support of his players but suggested that may not be true of others on campus. The Jayhawks are 5-5.
