Kate Upton gets marriage proposal from mascot, not Justin Verlander
Kate Upton, the model best known for gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, received a marriage proposal Friday night, but it wasn’t from boyfriend Justin Verlander, the hard-throwing pitcher from the Detroit Tigers.
While watching the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Orlando Magic at Amway Arena, Stuff the mascot for the Magic spotted Upton sitting alone and swooped in.
The rest of the story can be followed on Twitter.
Thanks @STUFF_mascot for the proposal tonight! Great game! pic.twitter.com/kQTt9zqKxE— Kate Upton (@KateUpton) February 8, 2014
Verlander reponded, of course.
“@KateUpton: Thanks @STUFF_mascot for the proposal tonight! Great game!” I was gone for 5 seconds!! pic.twitter.com/Xk6Z4Etn7b— Justin Verlander (@JustinVerlander) February 8, 2014
And Stuff the mascot says he hasn’t been rebuffed.
@KateUpton she didnt say yes... and she didnt say no... so you’re saying there’s a chance! pic.twitter.com/rHQYoTy9R7— STUFF, Magic Mascot (@STUFF_Mascot) February 8, 2014
You can’t make this STUFF up. Luckily there’s Twitter.
