Will Power wrapped his hand around a big bottle of champagne, shook it up, let the bubbly fly and took a long drink.

What better way to celebrate a perfect weekend?

Power put on a masterful performance Sunday over a difficult street course to win the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix. The Australian deftly negotiated hairpin turns and confidently gripped the wheel over bumpy roads to earn his second consecutive victory and career-high sixth of the season.

Power had the best time in Friday’s practice session, captured the pole Saturday, then led in 70 of the 75 laps to earn the $35,000 top prize.

NASCAR postponed its race at Atlanta Motor Speedway because of heavy rain.

The AdvoCare 500 will be held at 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday. Any hopes of running the race Sunday night ended when another line of showers moved through the area about 9:30 p.m. — two hours after the scheduled start, and just as crews were finishing up their effort to get the track dry for a late-night start.

NASCAR said there was no chance to get the race in Monday. The forecast calls for 4 to 5 inches of rain and possibly severe weather as remnants of Tropical Storm Lee move through the Atlanta area.

Watson takes lead at TPC Boston

Bubba Watson took a one-shot lead in the Deutsche Bank Championship at Norton, Mass., ahead of a group of five players including Australians Adam Scott and Jason Day.

Luke Donald, the No. 1 player in the world, and Jim Furyk were in the large group only two shots behind.

Watson looked set for a bigger lead before a poor back nine at the TPC Boston when he lost control off the tee and made three bogeys in a five-hole stretch, then failed to get up-and-down for birdie from just behind the par-five 18th green.

He still managed a one-under-par 70 to take a one-shot lead into the final round of the second FedEx Cup playoff event.

U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy (68) was third at 15 under along with South Africa’s Jaco van Zyl (64) and Wales’ Jamie Donaldson (70).
