FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Steve Ralston set up two goals and scored in the 93rd minute, leading the New England Revolution to a 4-0 victory over Chivas USA on Thursday night.

The victory was only the second in the last seven matches for the Revolution (12-7-5), which moved into second place in the Eastern Conference.

Chivas USA (8-10-6) had its three-match unbeaten streak ended and was shut out for the eighth time this season.

Chivas didn’t have many scoring chances against Revolution goalie Matt Reis, who notched his sixth shutout with three saves.

Ante Razov made a right-footed drive that Reis corralled in the 29th minute and then had a one-timer of a volley shot in the 38th minute go wide to the right.

Reis also foiled Chivas on seven corner kicks.

New England had given up 14 goals through its previous six matches, and hadn’t shut out an opponent since blanking Houston on June 12.
