Update: Already missing forward Gyasi Zardes, who is with the U.S. national team, the Galaxy lost two more players to international duty this week. Robbie Keane, who played 90 minutes in the Galaxy’s 1-0 loss at home to Vancouver on Saturday, left the next day to join the Irish national team. On Monday, defender A.J. DeLaGarza was called up to the Guam national squad. Columbus gives up the second-most goals in the league and has not won since May 9, posting three losses and two draws in MLS play over that stretch. On defense, L.A. will welcome back starting goalkeeper Jaime Penedo from the Panamanian national team just in time to face the league’s top scorer, Kei Kamara, who has 10 goals in 14 games. However, the Galaxy is winless on the road this season, with an 0-4-4 record.
