Welcome to another edition of Sportswriters Blues.

Andy McCullough covers the Dodgers. Pedro Moura covers the Angels. We created the podcast to talk about those teams and other topics we disagree about, mostly related to sports.

You can also subscribe to our show in iTunes by clicking here.

In case you'd like to read along as you listen, here are a few of the topics covered in this podcast:

The Angels are in bad shape.

The futures of their best pitchers were in question at the start of the week. One of them, Andrew Heaney, will undergo Tommy John surgery to replace an elbow ligament.

Clayton Kershaw’s ‘mild’ herniated disk

Kerhaw has a herniated disk in his back and is on the disabled list. He got an epidural earlier this week and it’s still unclear on how long he will be out. The Dodgers made a trade to try to bolster the rotation.

Ranking Addison Russell against baseball’s MVPs:

If you heard last week’s episode, Pedro insisted that Addison Russell is one of the 25 most valuable players in baseball. Andy disputed that, and said he could name a 25 players better than Russell. He wasn’t kidding, and came prepared with an actual list of 25 players. What do you think about the list?

You can read more of our coverage on Russell here.
