Blake Griffin out of Clippers lineup with strained left hamstring

Share

Blake Griffin was not in the Clippers’ lineup against the Washington Wizards on Monday night because of a strained left hamstring.

Griffin, who also has a sore left ankle that has been prone to swelling the last couple of weeks, went through warmups but returned to the locker room just before the game started.

Griffin is listed as day to day.

Griffin told the Clippers that he noticed the injury Sunday night, after the Clippers’ loss to Boston, but didn’t think it was an issue. When he went through warmups Monday, he reported to the team that he’d felt the hamstring get tighter.

Griffin, who leads the team in scoring (18.5 points) and rebounding (8.6), sat on the bench and was in uniform.

Lamar Odom started in Griffin’s place.
