MINNEAPOLIS — Clippers reserve guard Jamal Crawford will not play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night because of a sore left Achilles’ tendon.

The Clippers said Crawford’s injury stems from the strained left calf that forced the shooting guard to miss eight of nine games over a two-week period in March.

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said he wasn’t sure if they would shut Crawford down for an extended period of time.

“It’s a concern, though,” Rivers said. “Every time he plays two games it seems like since he’s been back, it’s sore again. We’re going to talk about that probably in the next couple of days.”

Crawford, who is third on the team in scoring (18.6 points per game), has played in the last five games since he sat out with the calf injury.

He came out of Saturday’s win over the Houston Rockets and got treatment on his Achilles’ in the fourth quarter.

Blake Griffin, who left in the first half of Saturday’s game because of back spasms, is a game-time decision against Minnesota.
