Clippers send injured Danny Granger back to L.A.

Clippers forward Danny Granger will not play during the rest of the team's ongoing road trip, having been sent back to Los Angeles because of a strained left hamstring.

Granger was injured during the fourth quarter of the Clippers’ game against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

The Clippers are set to play the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. Jared Dudley will be the backup small forward in place of Granger.

In 12 games with the Clippers this season, Granger was averaging eight points in 16.2 minutes per game.

He was shooting 42.9% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range.

The Clippers will face a Rockets team that won’t have all-star center Dwight Howard (injured left ankle) and point guard Patrick Beverley (torn cartilage in right knee).
