Galaxy forward Robbie Keane was among players added to the roster for Major League Soccer’s All-Star team Monday.

But one name was noticeably missing from the 20-man roster: Landon Donovan, the Galaxy’s all-time leading scorer who missed the start of this season due to an extended sabbatical from the game.

His absence from the All-Star squad broke a record string of 12 consecutive appearances for Donovan, 31, who’s currently away from the Galaxy because he’s playing with the U.S. national team.

The MLS’ All-Star format involves the MLS stars playing a leading international team. This year, they play AS Roma of Italy on July 31 at Sporting Park in Kansas City.

Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez also is on the All-Star team, whose players were chosen through a combination of fan votes and selections by team coach Peter Vermes and MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
