Watch woman slap NASCAR driver Max Papis after truck race [Video]
NASCAR driver Max Papis crashed on the last lap of Sunday’s truck race in Canada after colliding with rival driver Mike Skeen.
But to add insult to injury -- or is it the other way around? -- Papis was slapped in the face by a woman after the Camping World Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Media reports, including SportingNews.com, later identified the woman as Kelly Heaphy, Skeen’s girlfriend. The incident occurred after the Italian driver had given a post-race television interview.
Papis finished sixth in the race and Skeen was 13th.
Reaction on Twitter naturally erupted with Papis himself tweeting that he suffered a dislocated jaw.
That deal was only between me and #6 driver we could have solved it alone ...but I guess he needed some ...help !!!!— Max Papis (@maxpapis) September 2, 2013
Papis was on the other end of a slap in June after a NASCAR Nationwide Series race. Papis gave driver Billy Johnson -- who was still wearing his helmet -- a slap after the two tangled at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisc.
Johnson took the blame for the incident on the track but said of Papis’ slap: “I guess he was living up to his name ‘Mad Max.’ ”
