Watch Shannon Sharpe rip Bill Belichick for being a poor loser

Not many NFL fans outside of the Boston area care for New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick. Why? An incident Sunday is a good example.

The Patriots lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game. The losing coach is supposed to conduct a postgame interview with CBS. Belichick decided not to take part. CBS analyst Shannon Sharpe, a former tight end and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, didn’t like that.

“There’s something to be said about being gracious in defeat,” said Sharpe, now an analyst for CBS. “We’ve seen the New England Patriots five times in the last 12 years be victorious. We’ve seen the opposing coaches who lost come out and talk to our Steve Tasker. Coach [Bill] Cowher did it when they lost to them, we saw this last week.

“Bill Belichick makes it real easy for you to root against the Patriots. You can’t be a poor sport all the time. You’re not going to win all the time, and he does this every time he loses. It’s unacceptable.”
