USC’s Bryshon Nellum voted national track athlete of year
USC’s Bryshon Nellum, the NCAA 400-meter champion, was voted the 2013 national men’s track athlete of the year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Assn.
Nellum, a 2012 Olympian from Los Angeles, also finished third in the 200-meters last weekend at the NCAA championships at Eugene , Ore.
Nellum won the 400 in 44.73 seconds.
Clemson hurdler Brianna Rollins was voted women’s track athlete of the year.
Indiana high jumper Derek Drouin was voted men’s field athlete of the year, Arizona high jumper Brigetta Barrett women’s field athlete of the year.
