National signing day: USC gets Mater Dei DB Jonathan Lockett
Cornerback Jonathan Lockett has signed a letter of intent with USC, the school announced Wednesday.
Lockett, 5 feet 11 and 175 pounds, is one of several defensive backs who have signed with the Trojans, including Lamont Simmons and John Plattenburg.
Lockett played at Santa Ana Mater Dei High.
“He is a true cover corner,” USC Coach Steve Sarkisian told the school’s website.
“He is primed to contribute early because of the development he has at the corner position.”
USC returns two starting cornerbacks, senior Josh Shaw and junior Kevon Seymour.
