Update: USC appeared rushed and anxious in its season-opening loss to Portland State on Saturday. In his debut, point guard Jordan McLaughlin had 19 points but contributed seven turnovers to a team total of 23. The Trojans will look to rebound in the program’s first-ever game against Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles, of the Ohio Valley Conference, won in a laugher, 83-29, over Piedmont International in their first game, on Nov. 14.
