USC’s athletic department generates nearly $98 million a year, so it can easily absorb fines levied against the school or its coaches and administrators.

The Pac-12 Conference has fined USC or coaches and administrators $60,000 since 2011.

On Monday, the conference fined athletic director Pat Haden $25,000 for “inappropriate sideline conduct” during the Trojans’ 13-10 victory over Stanford at Stanford Stadium.

In November 2012, USC was fined $25,000 after it was discovered a student manager intentionally deflated footballs that were used during the Trojans’ 62-51 loss to Oregon at the Coliseum.
