UNC-Greensboro collecting rainwater in conservation effort

The University of North Carolina Greensboro campus is using lots of high tech methods to be environmentally friendly. The News & Record of Greensboro reports ( ) the school is also using a very old-fashion method. The school has set up a 2,500 gallon cistern to collect rainwater. Groundskeepers use the rainwater for some trees, flowers and shrubs that are in parts of the campus that are not part of the campus irrigation system. The cistern collects rainwater from the roofs of two nearby buildings. The school does use high-tech methods, as well. New buildings have high-efficiency heating and air conditioning systems.
