Mike Pence informed President Barack Obama that the federal Environmental Protection Agency's impending rules to reduce carbon emissions from power plants were unacceptable, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against federal regulations which attempt to limit power plant emissions of hazardous air pollutants. Obama came into office threatening to do harm to the coal industry, even in his home state of Illinois.
