Sharks waive Adam Burish, intend to buy out contact

SAN JOSE, Calif. Forward Adam Burish has been put on waivers for the purpose of buying out the remaining one year left on his contract, Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said Friday. Burish, who signed a four-year, $7.4 million contract with the Sharks before the lockout-shortened 2012-2013 season, was owed $1.85 million in what would have been the final year of the deal. Part of Burish's salary will still count against the cap. Per NHL rules, Burish's cap hit will be two-thirds of his remaining salary for double the term left on the deal, so he will be paid roughly $1.23 million over the next two years.
