CS Long Beach Can Ensure Winning Season Today
Cal State Long Beach can ensure its first winning football season under Coach Mike Sheppard with a victory over Nevada Las Vegas today in a 1 p.m. game at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach.
In Sheppard’s first two seasons, Long Beach had 4-7 and 6-6 records. This year, the 49ers are 5-4 with two games to play.
Long Beach fell out of contention for the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. championship when it lost to San Jose State, 38-14, last Saturday. Las Vegas is 5-5 after a 58-42 victory over New Mexico State last week.
