Police Seek Suspect in Drug Sale Slaying
Los Angeles police said Saturday that they are looking for a person who shot one Van Nuys man to death and wounded another in an apparent dispute over a drug sale in Panorama City on Friday night.
Fidel Para Flores, 20, was selling marijuana, police said, and Jacinto Rincon, 17, might have been a bystander near Blythe Street and Willis Avenue when they started arguing with a potential buyer. The buyer left, returned with a small-caliber pistol and fired two shots at Flores, Officer Pamela Conrad said.
Flores, who was shot in the upper body, was pronounced dead at the scene. Rincon was treated at Olive View Mid-Valley Hospital for a bullet wound to his left arm, Conrad said.
