Bruce Springsteen has donated $25,000 for a jobs program to help the unemployed in New Jersey. The rocker has frequently donated money to job banks in the cities he played in; in January, 1986, he put on a surprise benefit concert for workers at a 3M plant in his native Freehold, while publicly urging the company not to close down the facility.
