S.D. Police Officer Barred; Suspected of Having Cocaine
A San Diego police officer was suspended Thursday, suspected of possession of cocaine.
The action is part of a lengthy narcotics investigation that police officials said could lead to the arrest of the officer and several other suspects outside the San Diego Police Department.
Officials said the officer, who was suspended without pay, is a six-year veteran of the force and was assigned to the Southeast patrol division.
Officials declined to give specifics about the case, including details about the alleged possession. Cmdr. Calvin L. Krosch said the internal investigation began “at least a couple of months ago” and several people are under scrutiny.
“We still have a lot of work to do,” Krosch said. “We haven’t completed our investigation.”
