COLLEGE FOOTBALL: BOWL WEEK : BLUEBONNET BOWL : Pitt and Texas Are on the Run
Pittsburgh’s Craig Heyward, who likes to run over defenders, and Texas’ Eric Metcalf, who prefers to run around them, are expected to lead their teams in tonight’s 29th Bluebonnet Bowl game at the Astrodome.
The Longhorns (6-5), in their first season under Coach David McWilliams, are trying to end a four-game losing streak in bowl games, and the Panthers (8-3) are in their first bowl game since 1983.
Heyward rushed for 1,655 yards to finish second nationally, using a blend of power and agility.
The Longhorns are led on offense by Metcalf, with 1,161 rushing yards.
