Gardena 28, Grant 14--What was supposed to be the last of the Mohicans became Grant’s last stand at Valley College. Gardena (5-6), which had lost 10 starters to academic ineligibility, bolted to a 22-6 first-half lead and never let Grant (9-2) back into the game.

Gardena quarterback Alvin Thomas completed five of eight for 77 yards.

Grant quarterback Marlowe Lewis scored both Lancer touchdowns on runs of five and two yards. Lewis rushed for a game-high 114 yards in 17 carries but completed only two of 12 for 10 yards.
