Thomas Ends His Holdout, Joins Jets
Running back Blair Thomas, the New York Jets’ first-round draft choice and the second overall pick in the April draft, ended his holdout Saturday and reported to the team.
A spokesman said Thomas has agreed to a series of one-year contracts.
“I’m glad it’s over, I’m happy he’s in,” General Manager Dick Steinberg said of Thomas, the second all-time rusher in Penn State history with 3,301 yards.
Thomas, who underwent knee surgery and was sidelined during the 1988 season, returned to gain 1,134 yards in 264 carries. He fell 97 yards short of Curt Warner’s Penn State rushing record.
