LOCAL : Palmdale Standoff Ends; 1 Held
A robbery suspect was arrested this morning after an eight-hour standoff with Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies at his home near Palmdale, authorities said.
Alfonso Manfredonia, 39, of Lake Los Angeles allegedly shot at a pizza parlor manager who chased after him after a robbery and then barricaded himself in his house, Deputy George Ducoulombier said.
Manfredonia was arrested about 5 a.m. today after deputies fired tear gas into the house on the 40300 block of 164th Street. He was found hiding in a closet in the house and was uninjured.
The incident began about 8:45 p.m. Monday when an armed man took about $500 from King Richard’s Pizza at 17051 E. Avenue O and ran from the restaurant, deputies said.
