OXNARD : Food, VCRs Stolen From 3 Restaurants
Three fast-food restaurants were burglarized early Tuesday by someone who broke in through drive-up windows and took more than $1,000 worth of hamburger, chicken and videocassette recorders used for employee training, authorities said.
Two Wendy’s Old Fashion Hamburgers restaurants in Oxnard and one in Port Hueneme were burglarized sometime after 1 a.m., said Sgt. Ken Nishihara of the Oxnard Police Department.
An employee, who asked not to be identified, said most Wendy’s workers leave the stores about 1 a.m. The restaurants open for breakfast about 5 a.m.
Products taken from the store at 2551 N. Vineyard Ave. were valued at $1,000, Nishihara said. Estimates were not available for the branches at 3155 Saviers Road in Oxnard and 175 N. Ventura Road in Port Hueneme, he said. “It looked like these people knew what they were looking for,” the employee said.
