Pasadena : Limits for Front-Yard Rules
A property maintenance ordinance that bans 32 aesthetically objectionable conditions from Pasadena front yards--including clotheslines, overgrown weeds and broken windows--was modified Tuesday by the city directors so it automatically expires 18 months after it takes effect.
The provision was added after some directors expressed concern that the city lacks adequate staff and doesn’t know how much it will cost to enforce the proposed ordinance. The automatic expiration will allow the directors to review the ordinance and gauge its effectiveness.
A separate measure prohibiting parking of recreational vehicles in front yards will be discussed Oct. 30.
