SOUTHERN SECTION BASEBALL PLAYOFF ROUNDUP : Orange Lutheran Wins Wild-Card Game

Matt Hendren pitched a four-hitter as Orange Lutheran defeated Western Christian, 5-0, Friday in a Division 1-A wild-card game in Covina.

Hendren (8-4) struck out nine, tripled and scored the first run of the game when J.P. Presley singled in the first inning.

Presley drove in his second run with a double in a three-run fourth inning and made a diving catch in left-center field in the bottom of the inning that likely prevented a run. Orange Lutheran (16-8) will play at Beaumont in the first round Tuesday.

In the Small Schools Division:

Chadwick 16, Liberty Christian 4--Todd Seneker went four for four with two home runs and four RBIs for host Chadwick (15-4), which scored nine runs in the first inning. Jeremy Anderson hit a two-run home run in the sixth for Liberty Christian (15-8).
