POINT MUGU : Youth Still Critical After 40-Foot Fall
A 16-year-old Camarillo youth who suffered head injuries during a fall from Mugu Rock remained in critical condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center on Friday, hospital officials said.
Daniel Gagua was in the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery Thursday afternoon after the accident that morning, officials said.
The youth and his two 16-year old friends had skipped school at Rio Mesa High School to climb Mugu Rock, which is fenced off from the public because it is a dangerous area, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Luis De Anda said.
Gagua and his friends were scaling the rock at Point Mugu when he slipped and fell 40 feet, county fire officials said.
