Oxnard : Tires on 35 City Vehicles Slashed
Vandals slashed tires on 35 city-owned vehicles outside Oxnard City Hall between dusk Monday and dawn Tuesday, police said. “We’re looking into it, but so far we don’t have any active leads,” Oxnard Police Lt. Joe Munoz said.
City workers were busy Tuesday replacing about 100 tires on city cars, vans and pickup trucks. Most of the vehicles were parked in an unguarded open lot across the street from the police station. The new tires will cost the city about $5,000, said Sal Gonzalez, Oxnard housing director.
“I have no idea why anybody would do something like this,” he said.
