Vintage World War II fighter planes and antique cars will be on exhibit at the 1992 Santa Paula Airshow in July.

The City Council this week approved the air show, which will be held at the Santa Paula Airport on July 25 and 26.

Aviation buffs will be able to watch a three-hour flight demonstration each day from 1 to 4 p.m., ride in two single-engine Cessna four-seat planes, and participate in a barbecue dinner-dance on the Saturday night, said Ray Young, chairman of the Santa Paula Airport-Airshow ’92 Committee.

Patrons may donate $3 at the entrance, said Young, who said 98% of the attendees donated money at the last show in 1987.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Santa Paula Memorial Hospital and the airport. Organizers hope to raise $25,000, Young said. About 10,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event, he said.
