HUNTINGTON BEACH : Committee to Aid in Designing School
The Huntington Beach City School District is seeking 25 volunteers to serve on a committee to work with architects and officials on the design of a new elementary school.
The proposed school, which would be built at Garfield Avenue and Saddleback Lane, would be the first new school to be built in the area in about 20 years, district officials said.
The committee is expected to be active for about four months. The committee’s tentative schedule calls for one all-day work session, then a series of two-hour sessions about twice or three times a month until work is completed.
People interested in applying may call Assistant Supt. Jerry Buchanan at district headquarters, (714) 964-8888.
