Titan Soccer Team Breaks Into National Rankings at No. 20

The Cal State Fullerton soccer team cracked the national rankings for the first time since 1982 Tuesday when Soccer America rated the Titans 20th in its weekly poll.

The Titans improved to 11-4 with victories over New Mexico, 3-2, and Nevada Las Vegas, 9-0, last week. Fullerton, which leads the Mountain Pacific Soccer Federation’s Pacific Division with a 5-0 mark, closes the regular season this week against San Diego State at home Thursday night and at seventh-ranked UCLA Sunday.

“Can you believe it?” Titan Coach Al Mistri said. “I’ll tell you one thing, it’s not because of politics, because I don’t know enough people in low places for that. I’m real happy for the guys. They had a lot of doubts earlier in the season, but things are going good now.”
