PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : CHARGERS : Sellout Near for Sunday
The Chargers said they sold 2,200 tickets Monday, enjoyed another fine day Tuesday and are now 2,000 short of distributing the required number of tickets to lift the local television blackout for Sunday’s 5 p.m. with the Raiders.
The Chargers have until 5 p.m. Thursday night to distribute 59,500 tickets. The Charger ticket offices will be open Thursday from 8 to 5.
The Raiders-Chargers game has been a sellout the past 16 years here, although it has taken help in recent years from local sponsors at the last minute to buy up the remaining tickets to lift the blackout.
