Texas A&M; Rules Four Ineligible
Texas A&M; on Friday declared four players, including running back Greg Hill, ineligible after looking into charges of improper payments by booster Warren A. Gilbert Jr.
The other ineligible players were offensive linemen James Brooks, Darius Smith and receiver Percy Singleton. A release from university president William Mobley said the players were “ineligible in accordance with NCAA regulations but (the school) will consider requesting restoration of eligibility based upon . . . each individual case.”
” . . . The amount of work performed by these four athletes and as a result have taken this action,” the release said. The specific infractions were not explained and school officials could not be reached for comment.
