Countywide : 20 Students Receive Merit Scholarships

Twenty Orange County students are among this year’s winners of merit scholarships awarded by various colleges and universities across the country, the nonprofit National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced this week.

College-sponsored merit scholarships provide $250 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Winners in the last of three rounds of awards this year are:

Farzad Rezai, Anaheim, Servite High School, University of Oklahoma; Richard A. Zimmer, Anaheim, Mater Dei High School, Claremont McKenna College; Christopher Peterson, Costa Mesa, Costa Mesa High School, Harvey Mudd College; and Kuo-Wei Lee, Cypress, Gretchen Whitney High School, USC.
