Man Dies When Van Crashes, Burns
A 39-year-old Anaheim man died when his van hit a car and a power pole and caught fire, police said Saturday.
Margarito Ambriz Bedolla was driving west about 9:40 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of East Lincoln Avenue at a high speed, Anaheim police said.
The van sideswiped a parked car, then veered off the road and hit a wooden power pole, shearing it off at the base, police said.
The van caught fire after impact, and rescuers were unable to pull Bedolla from the wreckage until the blaze was extinguished, police said. An autopsy showed he had died of blunt-force trauma, the coroner’s office reported.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Police Investigator Rick Alexander at (714) 765-1861.
