Involvement Opportunities
The Heart Touch Project trains massage therapists to help nonambulatory AIDS patients. The referral network is composed of volunteer body practitioners throughout Southern California. * The Maple Counseling Center seeks volunteers to tutor Beverly Hills Unified School District elementary schoolchildren who are experiencing academic difficulties. A two-hour per-week commitment is requested. Volunteers are assigned to work one hour a week with a child from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at Horace Mann Elementary School or Thursdays at Beverly Vista Elementary School. Follow-up sessions, at which tutors share experiences, are held weekly from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Information: Adrienne Weise, (310) 271-9999, Ext. 212.
