Alemany’s Investigation Finds No Breach of Rules

Share

Father Robert Milbauer, the Alemany High principal, said Wednesday he believes no Southern Section rules were violated when the family of football players Deon and Deandre Scott received a loan from the parent of a teammate.

Jim Clausen, father of Alemany quarterback Casey Clausen, said he paid a bill for the Scotts’ mother, Jennifer Strong, when the family had a roof problem in January. The money has since been repayed, Clausen said.

Deon and Deandre Scott transferred to Alemany during the summer. Also transferring to Alemany was Casey Clausen.

“We found there was nothing wrong as far as procedures contrary to CIF regulations,” Milbauer said.

Milbauer said Jim Clausen did help the Scotts during transfer procedures last summer. He has been a friend of the Scott family for three years.

Southern Section Commissioner Dean Crowley asked Alemany to investigate the matter because state rules prohibit athletes from accepting financial inducements which might influence their decision on what school to attend.
