Abandoned Infant Found in Bushes Outside Home
A week-old baby girl clad in a disposable diaper was found in the bushes beside a La Puente house Wednesday evening, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The infant was found in the 100 block of Tanglewood Street about 5:45 p.m., said Lt. J.P. Harris of the Industry sheriff’s station.
“The resident had been home all day and had not heard anything,” Harris said. “He went outside to empty the trash [and] heard sounds and discovered the infant.”
The baby “had obviously not been at the location a long time,” Harris said.
