Update--The Zodiac defeated the Rough Riders, 1-0, on a late goal by forward Gustavo Leal at UC Irvine in the second game of the season. The Zodiac broke a two-game losing streak Thursday at Mission Viejo High with a 2-1 victory over U.S. Pro Select on a goal by midfielder Brad Wilson. The victory moved the Zodiac past San Diego into first place in the A-League’s Pacific Division. Zodiac Coach Mike Gartlan has benched three starters--forwards P.J. Polowski and Eddie Soto and goalkeeper Mike Littman--in the team’s last two games. Long Island is third in the Northeast Division, 18 points behind first-place Rochester.
