Radiohead’s Thom Yorke hasn’t emerged as a sex symbol yet, but he’ll be naked in his next video appearance, bound by heavy ropes to the likewise undressed Isabel Monteiro, singer for the English band Drugstore. The video is for “El President,” a Yorke-Monteiro duet that will be the first single from Drugstore’s upcoming album, “White Magic for Lovers.” The album’s due May 5 in the U.K., with U.S. release plans pending. . . .

Gavin Rossdale is in Ireland writing songs for Bush’s next album, with the band scheduled to assemble for recording in July. It may be released by the end of the year. . . .

The first Depeche Mode tour since the 1996 near-fatal overdose, arrest and subsequent recovery of singer David Gahan is set to begin in Europe in mid-September, with a U.S. trek starting in late October. The band is working on four new songs for possible addition to a singles compilation. . . .

Keyboardist Roy Bittan of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band is producing a Christmas album by Chicago. Bittan also produced two non-seasonal Chicago songs that are being included in an anthology, “Heart of Chicago: 1967-1998, Vol. 2,” that is due May 12. . . .

Cure leader Robert Smith is in the studio with David Bowie guitarist Reeves Gabrels working on material for an upcoming Gabrels solo project. The two met at Bowie’s 1997 50th-birthday concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and Gabrels then played on the Cure’s “Wrong Number” single. . . .
