Keep It to Yourself

In Erinn Hannon’s letter about U2 (Nov. 5), she says, “I long for the feeling of 100,000 people singing in unison” at their next concert. I hope she (and those other 99,000) does not get the seat next to me.

I have been to many concerts where people seem to feel it is fine to either carry on a conversation during the music or else sing along with their favorite songs because that is what they do at home or in their car. Get up and dance (after all, it is rock ‘n’ roll), but unless the performer specifically asks you to sing along, please keep quiet during the music.

At a Neil Young concert recently, people were even singing along to “The Needle and the Damage Done”--definitely not a sing-along song.
