Workshop to Address Energy Crisis, Businesses
The state’s energy crisis and its long-term effect on Ventura County businesses will be the subject of a two-hour meeting Friday morning at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Ventura.
The meeting is being billed as a workshop by officials with several Chambers of Commerce in the county.
Representatives from Southern California Edison will offer suggestions to area business owners for conserving energy.
“I think people are now beginning to take the energy crisis seriously,” said Ross Olney, president and chief executive of the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce. “Maybe I will learn something. I do know we have businesses to run, and I will be there to listen. We are going to have a tough summer.”
The meeting will start at 7:30 a.m. at the hotel, 1050 Schooner Drive, in Ventura. For information, call 648-2875.
